It occurred to me as I finished up crocheting my very first blanket that this is quite possibly the biggest artsy/craftsy project of any kind that I've started and actually completed. Sad, but true.
It turned out more beautiful that I could have imagined and 100% pure fun to make. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
In the end I was so grateful for it to be done and so anxious to see it on my couch that I took one look at the original pattern's edging and decided to try something totally different and a lot less complicated. A couple of rows of single crochet squared off the long sides, but I picked a fun picot edge trim from this book for the short, zig zag ends. It looks more like a bobble than a picot to me, but what do I know?
Blanket number 2 is already underway. What can I say? I'm hooked. (Bad pun intended--so sorry.)
It turned out so beautiful. What an awesome achievement!

So happy for you - it is wonderful! I have started my Babette again, partly inspired by yourself and Lucy... Can we have a sneaky peek at no. 2?
