Random stuff cluttering my mind, but in a good way:
- This gorgeous necklace has me swooning. Besides wishing I had some extra cash laying around (Can you ask for gifts for 4th of July?), looking at it makes me want to make my own jewelry again. I'm not talking about copying this fabulous design, but it just reminds me of my personal commitment to only wear handmade jewelry or jewelry given to me. Plus the stuff I already own. The idea is to not buy anything new unless it is handmade.
- I'm wanting to start working on a crochet blanket, but I keep going back and forth between squares of some design or a ripple/zigzag. I'm leaning more toward squares because they are so portable, but I haven't been really happy with my samples. Maybe I just haven't found the right pattern. Or maybe I just need lots more practice.
- I read an interesting article on sarcasm as a survival skill. Not quite sure about that, but it is definitely true that our 7 year old has mastered that important skill. Besides being incredibly smart and having quite a varied vocabulary for his age (he regularly says things like "I love you also" and "this morning when I awoke..."), he has already perfected that matter-of-fact contempt and sarcastic tone. You may hear him telling his goof-ball sister who's showing off her special karate move, "Well, that's just lovely." or asking his poor slaving-away mom who just put dinner--and a new recipe!--down on the table and is walking away to fetch the glasses, "Mom, was "hair" included in the recipe?" His timing is perfect. But considering his parents, he didn't stand a chance.
- I so want this skirt. But isn't there a source for them in the states?
- Quick quiz: What kind of blog posts do you prefer to read: Well thought out, more meaningful posts once or twice a week or short and sweet posts every other day or so?

It's short, sweet and often for me! Actually it doesn't have to be short just often to satisfy my nosey nature..X

If you set those crochet squares together by the corners, you could ripple in between rows of them. Best of both worlds?
